Every human being has its own sebaceous glands and everyone suffers at least once because of them. These stay under our skins and they appear in our bodies in huge amounts, particularly in the area of our faces and scalp. Only the palms and the feet are free of these glands. And if we have referred to the scalp, we propose you to talk about how often you should wash your hair.

These sebaceous glands are linked to a separate hair follicle and their job is to secret the sebum, that oil that protects your skin and hair as well. At least, this is one of its roles. The sebum is formed by the cells that take the fats from the body and disintegrate in the sebaceous gland. This substance is eliminated on the hair piece and this is how you start to ask yourself about how often you should wash your hair!

As you probably already know, the best substance against the unpleasant effect of the sebum on your hair is the shampoo. Of course, the sebum has some good parts like waterproofing your skin and protecting it from becoming dry. Imagine that you will not have these elements. Your skin will suffer serious problems and you do not this to happen.

However, washing your hair doesn’t mean harming your body. You have to do it in order to keep it clean and nice smelling. Be washing our body we actually remove the unpleasant sebum and oils due to the shampoo effect. According to every part of the world, there are different trends concerning the aspect of your hair. For example, according to the Western fashion, this dirty look is not accepted and it is recommended to have a shower every two days at least!

On the other hand, these oils can also attack the skin conditions and produce the acne and the unpleasant smell of your body. It can become more vulnerable for bacteria and viruses and your skin can get into serious bad conditions.

How often should you wash your hair? As often as you can and as much as you feel it uncomfortable. However, keep in mind that your health is more important that anything and if you notice that washing your hair too often can harm you, take some measures against it or talk to a doctor. Nevertheless, there are benefits and bad points on each side of the balance!
